Founded by Scott Smith, a wheelchair user himself, in 2010 – WAV Compare was launched following the success of our sister website The Accessible Planet – which is everything wheelchair accessible from balloon rides through to holidays. If you use a wheelchair then everything has to be accessible, but it’s not always easy to find the information you need. The Accessible Planet has helped raise awareness of Wheelchair accessibility over the last 6 years.

Find your perfect WAV:

It was trying to source a wheelchair accessible vehicle for a relative that sparked the initial idea of being able to easily search for and compare WAVs, even with this first hand experience and knowledge of WAVs it was difficult to find a vehicle that was suitable. Buying a WAV is difficult, each person has a different, and often unique, set of requirements and it’s not as easy as going along to your local car dealer to buy a used Ford Focus! The ‘WAV section’ has grown from an initial few used WAV listings into the stand alone website WAV Compare – developed from scratch to be WAV specific and help connect buyers and sellers. Fast forward a number of years and WAV Compare is aimed at helping you find your perfect WAV, through providing the information you need and enabling you to easily contact the seller.

WAV Compare has grown to become the UK’s largest online showroom and has helped 100s of people find a WAV and make a positive difference to their lives.

We are still a relatively small team, all of whom have first hand experience of wheelchair users and their needs – and look forward to continuing to develop and grow WAV Compare.
